Out and about at Gatcombe’s Festival of British Eventing

By Carla Passino on |

Members of the Royal family were out in force at the Festival of British Eventing at Gatcombe. Zara Phillips took her daughter, Mia, to watch the proceedings and they were joined by her brother Peter and sister-in law Autumn with their two daughters, plus the Earl and Countess of Wessex and their children, as well as Princess Anne.

Early start

Peter and Autumn Phillips’ eldest daughter, Savannah tried her hand at riding a mechanical horse….while nineteen-month-old Mia Tindall got up close and personal with a horse at Gatcombe as her mum looked on.

Zara style

After making an appearance in casual jeans and t-shirt on Friday afternoon, the Queen’s eldest granddaughter changed into a more formal blouse and off-white trousers, though she still paired her new outfit with trainers. She was even more informal on Saturday when she donned t-shirts and shorts to brave the heat.

Super aunt

Elegant in a green blouse and white jeans, Autumn Phillips sneaked a kiss on her little niece while her youngest daughter, Isla, proudly sported a rosette.

Ready for the show

The Earl of Wessex and his daughter, Lady Louise Windsor, attended the show on Saturday, and enjoyed the cross-country while the Countess of Wessex had a good time watching her son, Viscount Severn, go down an inflatable slide with Savannah and Isla Phillips.

Where’s my apple?

Mia Tindall’s straw hat fell on her face as she enjoyed an apple on the second day of the Festival of British Eventing at Gatcombe.

Horses are better

And, finally, Captain Mark Phillips swapped his horse for a quad bike as he took part in a stunt display at the Festival of British Eventing — but he looked unconvinced.
